Justin Sayre has become a cult-hit among young fellow “Sodomites” in New York City, preaching in a Variety Show style never known in TV’s famed straight Landmark show, “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

Sayre is the downtown sensation who blends outrageous comedy, political and social activism with a touch of cultural education. As seen at The Duplex on September 12, he educates through musical performances, skits, trivia and regular features such as “Letters to The Chairman” (Sayre) and “New Rulings From The Board” (Gay members of the IOS, the International Order of Sodomites). The I.O.S is the centuries-old secret organization of homosexuals and their friends, modeled after The Mattachine Society and other groups, that set the mythic Gay agenda.

Sayre and his tribal The Meeting* received the 2012 Bistro Award for “Comedy Artistry” and a 2011 MAC Award nomination  for Best Male Comedy Perfomance. In September, Sayre will host a special centennial event to celebrate Harry Hay, co-founder and of the Mattachine Society at New York’s Center for Gay and Lesbian Studies.

Bravo to both Sayre and Harry Hay!
