Times Square, the NBA and The New NBA 2K13 Video Game

Last night City Eventions, a New York City based experiential marketing agency launched an event in Times Square to introduce the new NBA 2K13 video game. Transformed, Times Square turned into a 2K Sports “Fan Zone” to promote the highly anticipated release of NBA 2k13.

2K Sports will officially launch NBA 2K13 today, October 2, 2012 but last night City Eventions distributed more than 300 basketballs along with popular NBA jerseys to those who entered the “Fan Zone.” Upon entering, fans had the opportunity to be amongst the first gamers to experience NBA 2K13. Playing off a 50ft digital screen in the middle of Times Square, winners were entered to win one of the three Xbox grand prizes.

The NBA 2K13 release has been abuzz on social networks leading up to the highly anticipated release. This is also the first time Jay-Z acts as the executive producer, which has added to the excitement. “Our team created a unique brand experience with 2K Sports, that attracted hundreds of people to Times Square to get their first chance to play the widely popular game on a digital wall in Times Square.“ says Ashley Brennan, City Eventions Director of Operations.
