October 4-8 2012 the Hamptons Film Festival celebrated its 20th Anniversary. This year the festival partnered with two of the industry’s most important organizations: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts(BAFTA New York). AMPAS presented an evening honoring Academy Award winning costume designer, Ann Roth and BAFTA New York, presented this year’s stellar Focus on UK Film.
Richard Gere was honored with Hamptons Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement in Acting award. Gere was joined by Alec Baldwin on stage as part of the HFF’s signature program, A Conversation with…….
For the first time the festival also partnered with Variety Magazine in introducing Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch:
