Marin Mazzie shimmers in gold. In her new show at 54 Below, forget Broadway these are the songs Mazzie has always wanted to perform live. These are the songs that’s she has sung in her bedroom. Singing a preview of the new selections we heard “Midnight in the Oasis.” Vocally powerful the mix of classical voice with pop standards takes on a new sound. I look forward to her singing Broadway again with those glorious belt tones, mixed with clarity of soprano. Three-time Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie will be showing the fun and fantasy of a Midwest girl and the music she loved.
