Lucky Cheng’s – The Real La Cage Opens in Times Square


Lucky Cheng’s, located at 240 W. 52nd Street, is an establishment where the guys are more beautiful than the gals and are the gals. Lucky Cheng’s opened Monday night, but not officially. The grand opening is October 25th and I expect that this will be a New York happening. Thorgy, Dina Delicious, Pathya Heart, Kizha Carr, Jezebel Jamison, Coco, Delilah, Alotta McGriddles, Sister Mary Helen and Chelsea Divine (the latter two appeared on “The Today Show”) will all wow you and woo you into one delightful experience.  At $40 – $50 for dinner and a show, this is the best deal in town.

As you enter, Chinese lanterns fill the air and you feel as if you’ve dropped into a slick Charlie Chan movie. Homemade infused drinks with flavors such as ginger, jasmine and coco palm, entice. Drinks run from $8 to $16 and I highly recommend the Tara Miso Nice, which is Myers Dark Rum, Coco Palm, Ginger, and fresh lime, at $12. Just be careful, because these drinks are deadly and go down easily. Thank-you Delilah.

Upon entering the main room, glittery tables, rich brocaded pillows and a soon-to-be hydraulic stage greet you. The stage, still in the works, was replaced with a shiny red robe

Kizha Carr started off the entertainment with a raunchy version of “Get Here.” The bible belt would seriously be praying if they heard this version. Next up, the classy Thorgy singing the vintage Barbra Streisand piece “Gotta Get Out.” Coco was hot as she peeled down to “24 Hours of Loving,” from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. The final act of the evening was Pathya Heart, who could make Britney look boring. These girls are so good, that they should teach Broadway performers how to perform and I would easily join a Drag Queen dance class. Brava!

The “girls” are all personable and attentive as they serve and entertain. The balloon master, John Murdock, is a plastic artist as he made me a busty cowgirl riding a phallic pony. He takes balloon artistry to a new level.

Celebrating a 25th birthday, Ruth and her table of 12 had a night they will never forget. This is sure to delight bachelorettes, bachelors and special occasions of every type.

Look for a food review in a couple of days, but let’s just say, I LOVE Twice-cooked Chinese Black Bean Spare Ribs. Yum!!!
