Leslie Kritzer sings Jule Styne in Hello Gorgeous! at Barrington Stage

“My View”  written by Stephen Sorokoff

Lots of performers can impersonate Liza Minnelli but how many can do Reba Evenchik?

Leslie Kritzer, in an amazing display of versatility and great singing of the Jule Styne songbook, managed to include some dead on impersonations of Barrington Stage Board member Reba Evenchik (also known as Pittsfield’s Perle Mesta).  If that wasn’t enough, she had her audience at the Boyd/Quinson main stage in hysterics as she also impersonated artistic director Julianne Boyd.  Her show was a fantastic tour de force of all those beloved Jule Styne show tunes.  Leslie is totally at ease belting out “Don’t Rain on My Parade” or enthralling you with “Guess I’ll Hang My Tears Out To Dry.”  No question about it.  She’s Gorgeous and she’s a star!   I guess it’s also an advantage to hang with the music director.  Fiance Vadim Feichtner at the piano produced the perfect accompaniment, and their cute banter and vocal duets just made the whole show one wonderfully entertaining evening.
