After a week of crazy weather in New York City it is time to break away and get some calm air out in The Hamptons. One of the most exciting events this weekend will be The James Beard Foundation’s Chefs & Champagne happening this Saturday at The Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack.  It is considered by many to be the premiere culinary event of the summer season.

“It is always an honor to be a part of an event like this,” said Chef Jonathan Benno of Lincoln Ristorante. Benno along with a handful of well-recognized food geniuses will be featured at the annual event which will raise funds to help support the foundation’s mission and programs.

This year multiple award-winning TV personality and cookbook author Ted Allen and the judges of Food Network’s Chopped will be honored at the tasting party. Culinary offerings from a select group of more than 30 fine chefs will be on site for a delightful evening out East.

“It’s a great setting for the event and a nice break from Manhattan in the summer,” stated Chef Christopher Agnew of Caviar Russe. “The event attracts a great crowd.”

Long days of prep work by the selected chefs will pay off when attendants are able to taste selections from some of the best kitchens in the world. The main event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online in advance. Be sure to eat a small breakfast and lunch on Saturday to make room for a delicious evening.

“On behalf of all the Chopped judges and producers at Food Network, I want to thank the James Beard Foundation for honoring us at Chefs & Champagne,” said Chef Ted Allen. “We love chefs and we love the craft of the kitchen, and to spend the day celebrating those things with you in the Hamptons is about as wonderful a day as we could ever hope to have.”
