92-year-old style icon Iris Apfel created a buzz last night at Fashion Night Out. First she modeled at Loehmann’s, wowing the crowds, then she showed off her new line of hand bags called “Extinctions” at Henri Bendel’s. I love the furry petable, must have bags.
This geriatric starlet has a make-up collection in conjunction with MAC, Jimmy Choo named a shoe after her, she designs jewelry, eye bobs, and handbags. Apfel is also the star of a new documentary by Albert Maysles.
This 92-year-old fashion icon celebrated her birthday August 29th and was at my house for dinner last Saturday night September 1st with her 97-year-old husband Carl. Iris and my mother fashion designer Francesca for Damon designed homes, office spaces and were the best of friends, which is why we celebrated their birthdays with a black and white cheesecake.
Last night at Bendel’s, I was on hand to help Iris celebrate the launch of her hand bags before she jetted off to Florida for the Home Shopping Network.
