T2C interviewed New York-based singing sensation Hilary Kole. Hailed as a “musical marvel” she stared in the critically acclaimed, off-Broadway hit, Our Sinatra. Hilary was the youngest singer to ever grace the stage of the Rainbow Room. Ms. Kole has debuted at both Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, sung with the New York Pops and Michael Feinstein. Hilary has recorded and concertized with music legends Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Michel LeGrand and has recorded with Hank Jones, John Pizzarelli, David Frishberg, Monty Alexander, Benny Green, Freddy Cole, Alan Broadbent, Cedar Walton and Mike Renzi. Her debut recording, Haunted Heart, was released to critical acclaim in 2009 (winning the Gold Disc Award in Japan and receiving 4 stars in Downbeat Magazine) and her newest recording, YouAre There, was named as record of the year in USA Today (2010), as well as winning the 2010 Bistro Award for record of the year. Hilary’s show opened at 54 Below on August 14th and plays through August 18th. Look for a review in the next couple of days.
