“My View” – Written by: Stephen Sorokoff
Last night, the crisp, clean air of the Hudson Valley was exquisitely enhanced by the magnificent voice of Victoria Clark accompanied by Don Rebic on piano. On the stage of Helsinki Hudson, this Tony Award winner (The Light in the Piazza) showed how a Broadway Musical Theater Star can also be a marvelous cabaret performer.
If you are a soon to have Feinstein’s Loews Regency depression, here is some math to perk you up. Take the train from Penn Station up to Hudson, enjoy the fall foliage on the ride up, stroll around town, have a wonderful meal at Helsinki and see the best of Broadway in their cabaret. It will probably cost you half of your Feinstein’s tab and the menu is significantly superior.
The Tony’s seemed to be well represented at Victoria’s show. Pittsfield resident William Finn (Spelling Bee, Falsettos) and Hillsdale resident Barry Brown (La Cage aux Folles) were in the audience, as well as many others from the NYC theater community.
Hint – upcoming shows are selling out fast, it looks like Lee Tannen, the series creator, has come up with a winner.
The Times Square Chronicles' intent is to bring a sense of community to the Times Square's three zip codes - 10018, 10019, 10036 and beyond.
