Happy 4th of July With Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

Beginning at approximately 9 p.m., Macys releases fireworks from six barges between 20th Street and 55th Street on the Hudson River. This year’s theme is Ignite the Night marks the 126th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty, as well as the 236th birthday of the United States. The music will be performed in sync with the fireworks and can be heard on 1010 WINS. If you’re not in the area, NBC will broadcast the fireworks live beginning at 9 p.m. EST.

Katy Perry a global superstar will be performing tonight. Pery has two albums, a string of #1 hit singles and multi-platinum sales.  The special edition Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, available now, features 3 new songs including “Part of Me,” her 7th Hot 100 #1, and “Wide Awake,” written for her forthcoming 3D film, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, in theaters July 5th.

Kenny Chesney joins Katy. He has produced more than 30 top ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.  Chesney’s latest album, “Welcome to the Fishbowl,” drops June19th.

Macy’s fans voted online for their top 10 favorite new renditions of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and Macy’s chose Kory Glattman as the winner. The single, which Glattman recorded with Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler, will be featured in the night’s final fireworks score. (It’s also available as a free download at macys.com/fireworks. Glattman was voted the winner out of more than 150 entries. Tonight Glattman’s dreams of becoming a star have a chance at shooting high.
