Fashion Week Re-Cap: Part 1: A Night of Sharing with WSDM

The panel of WSDM speaks Kassidy Brown, Shona Seifert and Agapi Stassinopoulos

Any given night a handful of events and happenings take place all across The Big Apple. Often the evening ends with empty conversations over a few watered down cocktails. It leaves one wondering why they skipped the early express train home for another night of the same old story.

But, a new chapter has begun for the women of Manhattan with the first empowerment salon called WSDM. It is New York City’s first monthly platform for women that offers authentic insight and life lessons from a panel of real mentors based in the region.

Founder Kim Bates along with a dozen well-known ladies in the city have taken upon themselves to get women motivated again in a supportive environment.

“We are inspiring women one story at a time,” stated Bates. “Women are always trying to find the perfect relationship and the perfect job when the truth is the best thing we can do is find the best relationship with ourselves.”

At each session roughly 100 women gather for wine served up with a side dish of female wisdom in a fantastic downtown loft space. Questions are directed to the panel by Bates and guests are encouraged to participate in a lively question and answer follow-up.

This past month three inspiring women shared their personal stories in the form of five questions by the host.

Featured storytellers this past session included Agapi Stassinopoulos who is the best selling author of Undbinding the Heart and contributor to The Huffington Post; Shona Seifert who is the Co-founder of Fearless Innovation Designed Online; and Kassidy Brown who is a film producer and co-founder of The Journey of Action.

“Kim is making magic happen,” gleefully said Stassinopoulos.

Passions are discovered and voices are heard. This is not a night to miss if you are looking for a higher purpose, or to simply spend an evening with a good group of gals.

The next WSDM section will be on Wednesday October 24th and speakers will be

Melanie Notkin, Founder, Savvy Auntie; Amanda Slavin who is the CEO of Catalyst Creativ, Co-Founder Charity Connector and writer for The Huffington Post; and Anita Sarko, President of ANITA SARKO PRODUCTIONS, INC. DJ/Musical Supervision/Production/SIRIUSXM on-air personality.
