The worldwide holiday Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd. The day when we not only take a step back and appreciate our environment, but also increase awareness for some of the problems our planet is facing. Earth Day New York is an organization that has been in the forefront of not only creating awareness but also finding solutions. For the past seven years, they have events at Grand Central Station.
These events are open to the public and are fun for the whole family. On April 19th, from 12pm to 7pm, there are exhibits, environmental programming and children’s activities in Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central. The next day the same exhibit is planned in Vanderbilt Hall but it starts a full two hours earlier. Outside, there are exhibits from 11am to 5pm between 45th and 46th streets. Also, between 11am and 5 pm on Vanderbilt Avenue there is a Grand Central Outdoors with exhibits, live music and family fun. Over in Times Square, meanwhile, see a green car show, interactive exhibitions, speakers and more on April 20th.
