“Charities to Benefit” was formed to help multiple charities by allowing celebrities to choose who their fame would help. The goal was to gather publicity and funding for the charities and show that a signature can save a life. T2C partnered with Medea Vodka and Columbus Circle Wine and Spirits to help bring this about.
Due to circumstances surrounding Medea, and beyond our control, we put things on hold, as we did not want to hurt the charities in any way. We postponed the February and June auction events to protect them. T2C took responsibility and wrote about it on our website.
The bottles, signed by the various celebrities, have been kept in a safe place so that an event could take place at some point once these matters were cleared up.
We contacted the various charities so that they understood what was happening.
We personally drove Joan Rivers and Charles Strauss’ signed bottles to the benefit “Midsummer Night Drinks” in the Hampton’s last month. The bottles were well received and are in the charities’ hands.
The other charities’ bottles are still in our possession because that is what the charities wished.
In September, we will be auctioning off Hugh Jackman’s bottle for Nomad Two Worlds, Hal Linden’s bottle for the Jewish Defamation League and The Cast of Phantom of the Opera, which is a one of a kind bottle with video capability, for Broadway’s Family Night Out. The place, date and time will be announced next week.
Thank you for your continuing support in helping us try to help, knowing that a signature can save a life.
We leave you with the lyrics from “Wicked” “No good deed goes unpunished, no act of charity goes unresented.”
It is in our hearts to give and be kind.
