CABARET NEW YORK CITY – June/July

Brian d'Arcy James

By: Sandi Durell

Did you think the Cabarets and clubs were on vacation?  No, no, no!  They’re in full swing with some remarkable talent appearing for every taste bud.  Explore, go see a show and enjoy!

There’s always something happening in the clubs uptown, midtown, downtown.

54 Below, on West 54th opened on June 3rd with Jackie Hoffman appearing on Sundays in June and Mx Justin Vivian Bond on Mondays. The big happening is Broadway headliner Patti Lupone June 5th thru June 16th. She is followed by Tony Award winner Brian d’Arcy James on June 26th. Many top name Broadway performers are scheduled in addition to some of cabaret’s finest. Andrea Martin opens with Seth Rudetsky on June 20th.

The “Green Room” will present a series of late night duos and trios including Sean Harkness, Barry Levitt and others.

Mondays: Mx Justin Vivian Bond; Sundays: Jackie Hoffman. Look for Rebecca Luker, Andrea McArdle, Ben Vereen, Jenifer Lewis, Jamie deRoy & Friends, Lea DeLaria, Victor Garber, Hilary Kole, Marin Mazzie, Christine Ebersole, Linda Lavin, Ann Hampton Callaway.

Jack Jones

Jack Jones is one of the greatest singers of all time. A true singers’ singer and luminary, double Grammy winner, Jack performs around the globe to sold-out audiences in venues ranging from Jazz clubs to the London Palladium. Jack Jones is the very definition of a complete and total entertainer. There is only one Jack Jones and he opens end of June at Feinstein’s!

In July, Feinstein’s welcomes back Will & Anthony Nunziata to celebrate the release of their debut album, “Make Someone Happy” and put their fresh stamp on the best of Broadway and the Classic Pop Standards in their brand new show. “Strong voices, leading man looks . . . they are upbeat and exhuberant . . . These brothers remind us of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. . . a one-two punch!”

Baby Jane Dexter returns to Metropolitan Room with her new show, STILL BAD, STILL BLUE for a special 5 performance run. Ms. Dexter has been hailed by many critics as a beloved artist who continues to top herself in what is one of the greatest comebacks in the history of night life. Her acclaimed, long time musical partner Ross Patterson will again be her musical director.

Laura Osnes

Laura Osnes, Tony Award Nominee for her role as Bonnie Parker in “Bonnie & Clyde: A New  Musical” and seen on Broadway in “Anything Goes,” “South Pacific,” makes her cabaret debut at Café Carlyle June 19th.

Seth’s Broadway Chatterbox is a one hour weekly talk show hosted by Seth Rudetsky. The show features sassy Broadway celebrities and happens on stage Thursday evenings @ 6 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. You never know who you’re going to run into and it’s always lots of fun.
