Ann Taylor is sporting a new look for the season. Not only is the apparel giant (headquartered at 7 Times Square Tower) touting style setter Katie Holmes as its new campaign model, the retail chain has revamped its collection of work wear basics, offering an edgier feel for you to show off at the office.
The retailer’s new urban work wear has a utilitarian feel; it’s all about great khaki and safari looks mixed with brights, according to Ann Taylor’s style director Kristin Rawson. We suggest paring a metallic camisole that can serve double duty from day to evening, with a pair of cargo pants and matching blazer in dusty beige. Top it with the company’s extensive line of chunky statement necklaces that come in a variety of shapes, weights and colors, including coral, turquoise, bronze and silver.
Moving into the warmer months, the retailer’s upcoming summer collection is inspired by the architecture of Mexico and the paintings of Frida Kahlo. There are creamy separates, soft silks and color-soaked dresses and tops, shares Kristin, which will be available in the stores by the end of the month. The company also offers a full accessories line of shoes, handbags and belts so you can deck yourself out from head to toe.
Visit Ann Taylor at 1166 Sixth Avenue between 45th and 46th Street. The store is open seven days a week. You can also see the line online at anntaylor.com.
